The camp is located 14km east of the iconic ACR/Agawa Canyon train tressel (this is where you will launch your boat). The camp is by itself on an island that is surrounded by mountains. There is 2 bedrooms with 4 bunks in each, there is a wood stove for heat but camp is not insulated. There is some basic electrical wiring that can be run by generator. The shingles were replaced 3 years ago. The island itself is an esker, so you have an amazing sand beach. The reservoir is over 30 km long and contains several species of fish including Walleye, Pike, Bass and Perch. There are many surrounding back lakes that contain Speckle and Lake Trout Incredible opportunities to view wildlife. There is a peregrine family that returns every spring to nest here. The surrounding mountains are home to several species of raptors, like red tail hawks, ospreys, golden and bald eagles. This area was explored and appreciated by the legendary "Group of Seven". There are many locations on the river that they have painted, like "The solemn Land" JEH MacDonald 1920, "Montreal Falls" JEH MacDonald 1920 and "Monreal River" Lauren Harris 1920, and likely more as they have many paintings dated that coincide with historical records of them in the region. Lease was $1,830.19 and increases 2.2% each year...the camp is after the 3rd on the main reservoir (id:27)
